Welcome

Welcome! Are you ready to make meaningful life changes, deeper connections with others, and face the struggles that have kept you tied down for too long? I'd love to help you find direction and begin to achieve your goals! As a Clinical Psychologist trained in many evidence-based therapies, I'm committed to providing my clients proven treatments in a way that emphasizes their needs and preferences. My website is designed to give you a sense of my therapeutic approach and specialty. Read on to see if my services could help you move forward!

Please note: I will begin accepting new clients in May 2024

Psychotherapy for anxiety & self-doubt

I love helping people who have been struggling with anxiety, low mood, or self-doubt find freedom from these traps. I can help you gain perspective on how worry and self-criticism have come to take up too much mental space.  Using elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Interventions, we can explore what it would be like to free up space for living a more rich and connected life. Many clients I work with come into therapy wanting to know why things got this way for them and are committed to seeing some real change in their lives!

The COVID pandemic has dramatically shifted our ways of navigating and being in this world. You may be experiencing new symptoms of anxiety and irritability, or perhaps it has made your previous symptoms worse. I work with clients to explore how they have been personally impacted by these stressful times. We will use a combination of techniques for stress management and mindful self-compassion to help ease the weight of living with such uncertainty.

Trauma-focused therapy

I also work with people who are interested in learning how to move beyond painful or traumatic events. I’m trained in two of the most empirically supported treatments for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder—Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure. Understanding when to participate in trauma-focused therapy is an important question that I work with interested clients to answer. We can discuss options for treatment and collaboratively decide what trauma-focused therapy should look like for you.

If you're thinking that you could benefit from therapy in either of these areas, contact me about getting started.

Getting started

When it comes to  selecting a therapist, you should find someone whom you feel comfortable talking to, has knowledge or specialization in the issues that bring you into therapy, and uses techniques that will move you forward.  To begin, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. We will talk about the issues you've been struggling with and the approaches that I think would be most helpful for you. The goals for this call are to give us a good sense of whether my approach, session structure, fees, and schedule availability could be a good fit for you.

Individual Psychotherapy sessions

In the early phases of therapy, I will be gathering important information about your symptoms, experiences, relationships, and background. This helps me get a full understanding of your strengths and struggles. Once the intake is complete, we will solidify our treatment plan together and hit the ground running!

Our first session, focused on collecting important information, is 60-minutes in length. Afterwards, individual therapy sessions are typically 50-minutes each and are scheduled weekly during the active phases of treatment. The overall length of treatment varies for clients and often depends on client goals and preferences.

fees

The initial intake session is $300 and lasts 60-minutes. Each session thereafter is 50-minutes and is $275. Payments are collected at the end of each session. I am not contracted with insurance companies and would be considered an “out-of-network” provider by your insurance plan. I can work with you to determine if you can use out-of-networks benefits to be reimbursed session fees by your insurance plan.

Your rights to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of costs for services are described here.

Location

In-person sessions are currently on hold. All meetings will take place over a secure telehealth video-conferencing platform.
